A Short Palette

Dining Room Design Concept

About the Project

Perched above Cow Hollow, Vallejo is a shining, shingled stunner. The exterior is pure Albert Farr, restored the way he drew it, with a few quiet updates by Studio 12 Architecture for a couple relocating with their young boys.

Inside, we took the risk: Arts & Crafts outside, warm and modern within. Simple where it matters, small pleasures everywhere, and a few big pieces that hit home. This house isn’t playing around, though the boys probably are, somewhere on one of its four levels.

The showstopper is a custom hand-cast bronze chandelier by Daniel Hopper, dropping 50 feet through the stairwell. Across the foyer sit a pair of camel leather lounges by Baxter, a Paola Lenti dining table, and oak chairs by Angelo Mangiarotti.
